I just leased a new '08 Cayenne - fully loaded. I really like the feel of the vehicle. My only complaint is that the thing rattles when I'm driving over city streets! What's with this? It sounds like (and the service manager at Sonnen Porsche) says he has received a few of the same complaints and says it's the suspension and that "it's normal"!!!! I expected a lot more from a Porsche. Even my Ford Taurus rental doesn't rattle like this. Does anyone have any thoughts/experience? Thanks, Ag

It's give and take. Your Taurus doesn't have a sport suspension and low profile tires.

Yeah, I don't buy that...my Mercedes CLK did not rattle and it had sports suspension and low profiel tires. Doesn't seem right.

Where were the tires installed - factory or dealership?  Dealerships often cut corners on stabilization & wheel balancing and I would make sure this was addressed adequately.

You're comparing apples and oranges. The CLK weighs 1500 lbs less and is designed for on-road driving. I'm sure you must of noted a huge difference when you test drove your '08 CS before you signed your lease. A certain amount of noise can be anticipated over rough urban streets. Leasing a Lexus SUV (RX, GX-base suspension or LX) would have provided a softer ride but less fun.

I have a older Cayenne, never rattles. I would not remain quiet
on your issue, take it back to dealer. There is a lemon law that
may be applicable that may allow you a equivalent replacement
Cayenne.

I guess it depends upon what you mean by "rattles"...I would not say my Cayenne rattles but, especially in Sport mode, it tends to have a harsh, firm ride. My mother would hate this and thus drives a Lexus RX330. Very plush, soft ride but lots of body roll in corners. I think of "rattles" as implying that something is loose??? Is this what you mean?

Hey Bayview,
Sounds like you need to pin-point the area where it's coming from, at exactly what speed, cold or warm, sport comfort or normal, is it constant, front or back.
They can fix this, Porsche takes care of there customers. If the dealership is any good  they could have ask to go on a road test with you.
You cant just go into any dealership ForD, Dodge, Ferrari, Mercedes or Fiat and say "I have a Rattle".. Everbody's hearing is diffrent...................
