Hi my names Ryan im new to the board. Its a 911 Targa S and it has about 85k miles. The problem is that when you drive the car somewhere or have the car warm up and park it for about 30 minutes, the car wont start again till its dead cold. The engine will turn but the car will not start. Do you guys know how to fix this problem or what to replace?

thanks
Ryan

Sounds like some kind of fuel sensor or some kind of sensor problem to me.

Ryan...been awhile since post but curious...did this fix the problem. I
have similar issue on 83 and have a list of possible causes 2 pages long.
The check valve's an easy fix.....but what is a fuel accumulator?

THANKS...not much on it in the Bentley Service Manual...Pelican Parts had a
pretty good thread on it...for $250 sounds like a hopefully easy solution
to HOT START PROBLEMS.

$250 for an accumulator? I sell them for $135. You may want to check the price again to make sure you are getting the correct Bosch unit.

Fuel Accumulator, 911 (1980-83), 911 Turbo (1976), 911 Turbo (1978-89)
Brand: Bosch

911-110-197-02-M14 = $237.00

I list that part as fitting 78-83 911, and 76-89 911 Turbo. The 77 911 uses part number 911.110.197.01 Since it is an updated part number, it will probably work though. I have those for $189. Pelican is good on some things and high on a lot of items.

To put closure to this....yes a new check valve, fuel
accumulator with a clean fuel filter thrown in fixed the
HOT STARTing problems. Matter of fact it purrs smoother,
cleaner and fires up on the first hit now. THANKS
