Hi everyone. I am considering the purchase of a 89 944. It has 115K which makes me a little hesitant, but the current owner has taken great care of the car and has tons of receipts. Also, he said that there is a clicking from one of the rear wheels that stops when you tug on the emergency brake handle. Any ideas? thanks!

More than likely one of the springs in the parking brake shoes has broken.  Should be a simple fix.

Thanks Doc. I appreciate the input. What do you think about the mileage?

115k miles isnt a lot if the car has been properly maintained.  History of clutch and timing belt/waterpump replacement is very important as those are big ticket items.

belts were just done 2K ago so was the water pump (this is the second water pump that has been documented, i'd have to look back for additionals). I'll look into the clutch.
thanks again!
