Another newbie

Hi all,
I've had my first porsche for about 5 months now and I love it, 88 944 (non-turbo). I initially bought it because no one on base had one but its quickly becoming one of my favorite cars. I'm looking for a 944 S now. I probably wouldn't have bought this one if I hadn't got lucky ($2500, 80K miles, decent shape). Is it cheaper to refurbish the 944's or find one in better shape?
