Upon having my '84 certified for licensing, I purchased all of the bulbs for the 944 including headlights, side-markers, signal, tail etc., which all are strong and bright but the headlamps I purchased are very weak by todays standards. Any suggestions Padres?

Take a look at a HID/Xenon Conversion for the dipped beam only. I've just done this on my 996 and it has transformed my night time driving confidence on the back roads and country lanes of the UK. Take a look at the Brand "Natural Daylight".

Talk to Travis as Rennbay.com  He has the updated wiring harness and brighter bulb setup.

Thanks Bob, but unfortunately I am a bodyshop custom polisher by trade which doesn't afford me the advantages of those high-tech upgrade purchases. But thank you for the suggestion which is appreciated.
Thanks Doc, I'll be hookin' up with Travis some time this spring, right after I finish the timing belt, balance belt, rollers, tensioners, water pump, windshield wiper motor, coil, wires, trans mounts and/or clutch, fluids replacements and filters... and if I really want a divorce, my Porsche mechanic mentioned that my shifter pin feels week enough for concern.
