Brake Piston Removal?

Hi all,

I'm just in the middle of refurbishing my S2's front brake calipers (Brembo four pots / black type). I've removed them both from the car and need to replace two of the pistons as they have seized.

Do you have any tips on how to remove them?

Remove the bleeder nipple and apply compressed air and they will pop out. Just make sure your fingers are clear, as when they release, they will do so with a vengance.

I did think of that, but will the free pistons pop out first, leaving no pressure to pop out the siezed piston?

I'll hook it up to my compresser anyhow and see what happens.

Okay, I hooked it up to my compresser....and pop two of the free pistons popped out leaving the one siezed piston and the remaining free piston unmoved.

So....I pushed the pistons back in, cut some wood and a metal plate to jam the free pistons in place and had another go!

Ureeka, out popped the siezed piston!

Now if the postman would just move his butt and deliver my caliper refurb kit, I might get my car back on the road.
