Front shocks

All right everybody, here is an easy one hopefully. What is the simplest way to tell if you have inserts on the front srtut tower, or a non insert/ built in Strut tower. I ask because I plan on buying Bilstein inserts for the front, but darn it I've read a dozen things about the strut towers and frankly I'm a bit confiussed at this point. On that note, are there other items such as Camber plates I should be looking at as well? Thanks, and hopefully this is the last time I have to figure this out :)

What year do you have?

it is a 1986 944 NA, no sports packages that I know of. I know for a fact that the rear shocks were Sachs, I would assume the front are the same ??
