should i be concerned about used 911 with codes from ecu mod - do all ecu mods cause trouble codes

Default should i be concerned about used 911 with codes from ecu mod - do all ecu mods cause trouble codes
looking at a 03 911 4s. inspection shows trouble codes potentially from ecu mod. no records since from auction. are ecu mods dangerous to the car? should I expect future maintenance trouble because of this?
