I've owned a 1983 944 since new and it, looks almost new, runs great and has 82,000 miles. However, last year the ac switch, located in the center of the upper portion of the center console no longer turned on the AC. I had a porsche trained mechanic test the AC by connecting a 12V power supply to the AC and it worked great. I thought that, before I send it to an AC repair shop, I would buy a new factory switch to replace the old switch. I realize the switch may not be the problem, but if it is, I thought it would be an easy fix. My problem is gaining accessibility to allow removal and replacement. Does anyone know how I can get access without removing the whole center console?
