Hello, I am new here. 3 questions

1. I jsut bought a 1973 914 and the headlights flicker when I touch the turn signal. Sometimes they just do it on their own. By flicker, I mean off on off on off on real fast and I can hear a clicking. What is the cause of this and how do i fix it?

2. What does a flashing red light in the instrument panel mean? After it was flashing for a while, (5 mins) the car stalled and woulnt start for a few minutes. It smelled like it was running hot.
