Doc, I have a question for you about engines. Im looking to find a crate motor or rebuild the one in my 911 right now. Which would be the better choice? Iv been tryin to search for crate motors but i just cant seem to find any. Im only 19 years old dont have a lot of money, just tryin to figure out what i wanna do for the future. Its a 1976 911s with 130 thousand miles.

Well, you really aren't going to find a crate motor for an engine that old.  Your options are rebuilding the current engine, or finding a used engine from a Porsche parts dismantlers.  Beware of companies that offer $3k rebuilds though.

Yeah, I checked out a local place near me. They said it could cost anywhere from 10k to 18k, but they also said they send it out to get done, they dont do it there. I live in Southern California
