Hi guys,
does anyone know what is the engine external temperature of 911 (mod.993)?
It seems very hot, and I suppose it's about 200 °C (about 350°F) but I'm not sure.

I ask this because I am very worried about oil leak from the tappet packing!
Lately some white smoke comes from the engine box; I cleared the engine from oil and everything was fine again... but could them cause a fire? (!)

Thanks for any help!
Kun

More than likely you have oil that is dripping down onto the exhaust and causing a puff of smoke.  While the engine exterior is extremely hot, it is not going to light the oil on fire.
