Hi all

I'm new to this forum and really don't know much about porsche's.  I work as a mechanic to help pay for my college education right now and am undertaking the task of bringing my cousin's 924s out of the barn to put back on the road for him.  No rust to speak of on this car but it hasnt even been started in probibly 15-20 years.  With 22k on the odo. I want to make sure i'm very careful about what im doing rather then just dump some gas and oil in it and try to fire it up.  What would you all recomend i do to get this car back on the road again.

Thanks for all of your advise.

Sorry about the confusion I talked to my cousin and got the rest of the details on the car today.  The porsche is a 1982 924 turbo not a 924s.  Hasn't been drivin sence 1988 so im sure its going to need a good once over before its even started again.

Well at minimum you need to do the timing belt before you even try cranking it over.  You will have to obviously drain all the fluids and refill, change the fuel filter, oil filter, etc.  The chances of getting it to start with the old fuel gumming up the fuel head and injectors is probably not likely.  I would guess that entire system will have to be removed  and cleaned or replaced.
