Yesterday was a beautiful day in Colorado. I took the day off and just finished installing a new Fabsport Maxflo Muffler system which claimed to add 10hp, and K&N aircharger, which claims to add to 23 hp. Not sure if that was a 33hp increase, but wow, what a difference! The acceleration and low end power was very noticeable and the new muffler sounds great.
As I was out test driving the new add ons, I was cruising down a country road at about 60, when a guy came up from behind me. He had plenty of room to pass but decided to stay behind and taunt me into a race. I love a race, but am smart enough to know it's not worth a ticket or even loosing your license. We came up on a light and he was reving his engine looking over at me. I ignored him, took off slowly and he peeled out. He was driving a new Nissan 350Z. It was a hot looking car. He drove up to the next light and was waiting for me. I decided to give the new add ons a test. I decided that a 0-60 race would be acceptable and not result in a ticket. We both launched and I was immediately 1/2 car length in front of him for the first moment and then almost a full car length when I started to slow down at 80. Needless to say the add ons passed their test and the 350Z decided not to wait for me at the next light. I'm sure he's at home right now licking his wounds.

. I have to admit when my modified 996 did the same to a 997 2S, I did rather glow with pride
