Hi I have a 2007 Cayman S and I need some help! I have about 4000 miles on now and when powering up in first to about 4200 rpm shifted into second and let the cluch out and got on it and the cluch spun. I pushed cluch back in and let off but it smoked seemed to run ok but I have two trucks with cluches and when that happens its over. My question is the Cayman S to powerful for the cluch assembly or is it just chance?

Hi I think realistically you need to be pessimistic, and assume there might be a problem with the clutch. What you describe sounds like a problem to me. Trust your gut feel from your truck experience.
At 4000 miles I would be asking questions of the supplying OPC and looking for the clutch to be changed under warranty, because there is no way it should have gone by now, and as a careful owner you do not abuse clutches right !

Hello Big Bob

I have driven manual trans. for 35 years, and good at it but never a porsche. Do you think it is a power problem?
Thanks for your help!

Hi. No I dont think its a power problem. Fundamentally the Cayman (S) is a development from the 911 technology and clutch experience. 911's run with more power. So I think you have a Warranty case for Dealer.
