I just bought my first Porsche....Meteor Grey ''''08 Carrera S

How can I mount the front license plate without drilling the bumper?  Has anyone come up with a solution?  Super strong magnets...one on each side?  Brackets?

Any help and wisdom is appreciated.

My Best,
Nick

Hi Nick, Went thru the same as you with the front Plate. The dealer didn''t mount the bracket but gave it to me so I could if I wanted to. After I was stopped by police 3 times the first week I had my car, I Finally gave up and drilled 2 small holes in the bumper and mounted the bracked with toggle bolts. It really dosn''t look that bad. In the link you listed, the bracket seems to be mounted to one side. It really looks bad.. Just mount the bracket and in a few weeks you won''t even realize it''s there..

Hi Steve,

Did you get a citation each time, or did they give you a break?

I do not think that the offset mount looks too bad. I thought the other mount looked horrible. I just could not come up with another solution to the problem. It really is a shame that we have to put a front plate on.

I did order it, and at least it is not permanent....I can take it on and off as I please. If I am going to stay in the city (Chicago), I can throw it on. If I am going to head out on the highway to visit my parents. I''ll just pop it off. Or, if I am going to be in a Porsche event or show, I can take it off for that as well.

I can even just keep it mounted on the bracket and in my car somewhere. If I get pulled over, I can make up some story how I just bought this new invention and have to install it still....i do not know, I''ll think of something. Thanks for the reply.

For my education please US Forum Members when I was in the States quite a few years ago, it was not necessary to have a Front Licence Plate. Has that changed and when did that becone the case?
Thanks Big Bob

I''ve used the Mower and Axle part for my Porsche and my Ford GT. It works perfectly and great folks to deal with. I give them two thumbs up.
