I just bought a 86 non turbo 944 wrecked in front pretty good, fan is broke from hitting engine, car has sat for 14 months, when I turn key I can hear fuel pump go and all dash lights work but no crank...turned motor by hand, it''''''''s ok..connects look good... I need to see this thing run before I thro any more dough at it...the car was running when hit...is there an inertia switch anywhere that may be affecting starter? or any other type of device...thanks Now...Cliff

FIXED!...Apparently sitting outside 14 months with flat tires (making it that much closer to the ground) caused the starter innerds to corrode, so I found after taking the starter out...I took it apart cleaned and lubed everthing and now it starts! and runs good!....by the way for those of you who don''t know, inertia switch is one method used by automakers to cut fuel supply to the engine in the event of an accident to prevent fire...Cliff
