A sports car built by Porsche, the 930 was produced from 1975 until 1989 and was the top of the line model for its entire production. The 930 is also known as the fastest production vehicle of its time in Germany. The car was equipped with a 3.0 liter flat six and could produce up to 260 horsepower. Because the car was turbocharged, Porsche equipped it with an upgraded suspension, larger brakes, and a stronger gearbox. Porsche stylized the 930 with a whale tail rear spoiler and also helped to vent more air to the engine. The 930 also had wider rear wheels as well as upgraded tires, which made it more stable and easier to handle.
Porsche made some big changes to the 930 started with upgrading the engine to a 3.3-liter, then adding an air-to-air intercooler. The new intercooler helped to increase the horsepower to 300 while a whale tail spoiler was redesigned and raised to make room for this new intercooler. More strict emissions laws in both Japan and the United States saw the end of the 930 in both markets in 1980, though it was still sold in the European market in 1983 where it could produce 330 horsepower, though it played around with a couple variants of the 930 eventually pulling the plug on all of them by 1989.
