1999 Boxster radio/Nav replacement??

I have a 99 Boxster with the PCM system....it is broken and not repairable. What are some popular replacement double din systems that people are using?? Looking to spend less than 1k.

I am new to the Porsche scene, thanks in advance

You can put in Pioneer's nav unit, but it will run you around 1500. Very nice unit.

I was thinking about this unit-

Is that what you had in mind?

Not familiar with that model specifically, but yes, it should work.

I was reading on another forum that Crutchfield has a special running, I wouldn't go the ebay route, especially when criutchfield has a special for a simular amount. I believe the forum was avic411 or something of the sorts, and had a code for a discount

Couldnt find the info about the special...The E-Bay company is semi-local to me and has also offered to install the unit for an additional $150.00

Mounted down low...

And, up high. Both are different Pioneer units:

RE: 1999 Boxster radio/Nav replacement??

ok. I asked you the other day about the trim peice around the AC if mounted below. I got that under control. I actually had a machine shop make me one. But my question now is about the trim peice around the radio in this picture. I cant find anything anywhere. I mounted the double din radio up high where the AC unit used to be. But I now have a very ugly gap around the radio. The trim ring it came with is completely wrong for the dash in a 996. Where did you get the trim peice for around the double din radio when it is mounted up high where the AC and factory radio were? If you can find one or order me one, I'll pay you whatever finder fee you want. I would pay upto $100 for this peice! I am that presseed to find i!! Please help.
