CDR23 radio
My 2003 911 CDR23 radio took a crap and dealer wants mortgage payment to replace. Does anyone know if a Cayenne CDR23 is the same as a 911 CDR23. I saw a picture of one that came out of Cayenne and it looked identical.

RE: CDR23 radio
Becker OEM radio/cd/ipod gear for Porsche models. I replaced the standard OEM in my 01 996tt with the latest Becker radio and ipod adapter. Takes about an hour to all up. Mostly plug compatibile

RE: CDR23 radio
I believe the CAN communication network system is slightly different, but now you have the ability to replace with an aftermarket system. Some 03's did have the MOST system to the amp, which would be next to the spare under the cover. Look to see if it has 2 orange fiber optic cables going to it. They will be of a hard plastic. all the wires should be twisted so it will make it easier knowing if you do or if you don't. You can also pull the radio and unplug the fiber connector if it is there also. if sounds still plays when disconnected, then go aftermarket, and save the CDR radio for when you get rid of the car. a good quality shop will be able to interface it to your vehicle without cutting any wires. I have done many and the sound quality is way better. Not to mention that you can accessories the hell out of it really cheap, iPod, XM, Sirius, HD, Changer, DVD changer, 5.1... etc
