Need internal engine work on a Nissan altima 2008. Do I need to install a new engine

Want to do internal engine work on a Nissan altima 2008. The engine rattling badly, but car runs. Do I need to install a new engine or rebuilt one, how much is approximate cost? The basic and power train warranty voided by Nissan due to water damage to car. The engine is 2.5 L. and the car is Nissan Altima Hybrid, 2008 with 22K miles. The hybrid system is still under Nissan warranty.

No man, you do not have to install a new engine. Just make sure you engine head stays perfectly on place. If it has even the slightest varied position the engine begins to rattle vigorously. Then also change the gasket set so that you won’t have any problem with the engine head in the future. This will prevent the whole lot of heat from transferring to the lower parts of the engine. The next thing you need to check is the timing chains and belts. If they are worn out they make some screeching noise.
