1983 944 DME relay or ECU? HELP

Hello to all,

I am new, and also in need of some advice. I just purchassed a 83 944 the day it arrived it ran fine, the following day I was driving it home, and it just died on me (of course my luck it was raining). It wouldnt start up right away (all it would do is turn over). I waited about ten minutes and it started with no problem. The folowing day I drove to my shop with no problems, about 2 hours later I went to leave, and it just turned over, and over without starting? Just before having it towed I checked it over with a volt meter, and there was no spark from the coil. Now the car is at a local repair garage where it has been for the last 2 weeks. The coil has been changed, and now the garage tells me that it wont turn over now? The Porsche dealership I spoke to told me it sounded like the DME relay? Then again anothe guy tells me it needs a new ECU? If anyone could help me with this problem that would be great. Look forward to chatting to you.

Thanks,
Preston

DME relay or connection to the reference sensors. You can jump the DME relay with 3 wires twisted together, that will tell you if it is the problem or not. Sounds like the shop really doesn't know what they are working on.
