Identify Model and Year
Hey everybody
I bought this item(see attached) in a Bric-à-brac shop over ten years ago. I placed it over the fireplace in our living room and there it has remained.
Whenever we have some new people over, it always makes it’s way into the conversation. My one liner “It’s a mid-life crisis for someone that can’t afford a Porsche” is, according to my girlfriend, no longer funny after the 1,000th time I told the joke. The conversation usually ends up along the following two lines, which are the two questions I put to you.
1. What model and year is it?
2. What is it?
The second one is an odd question. Eh, Car, Porsche, 911.
The answers range from a Toy, to an ornament, to a pre-production clay scale model. I cannot find a similar item online. Type in 'Porsche model', you get a dinky type of toy car or metal/plastic ornaments.
Type in 'Porsche model clay', you get the pre production mini to full scale clay models used by companies when they are in the design phase.
Do they give away or sell the clay models they use in designing cars? The brown clay on this model is still visible. It even has a mini stick shift.
I put in a €2 coin for scale. It’s dimensions:
Length: 32cm
Wideth: 13.4cm
Heigth: 10cm
The best answer I have got is a 356(1963 365B).
Tks
