Road trip in a Porsche info request

Hello for snowy Canada.

My wife and I went on a 6 week road trip through Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico last year. It was one of the best experiences I've had, enjoying the secondary roads and friendly people. We were in my M3 then. However, my 997TT should arrive in time for us to take it on another road trip (a bit shorter this year unfortunately) late this summer. If I"m lucky I will be able to meet some others at local Porche events (met the nicest people at a Denver BMW event last summer - made me feel we Canadians are a bit stuffy at times). Feeling the drive, great secondary highways, meeting other enthusiasts, exploring new experience - it just doesn't get better than this!

I'm looking for any advice (and or stories) from others who have done road trips of a few weeks (there must be lots, but I can't find much info) re things to consider for such trips in a Porsche.

Bruce (aka Bion)

P.S.

Try US 50 from Ocean City, Maryland to San Francisco. Go in Mid May for the Great US 50 Garage Sale--supposedly covers the whole route. Patience will probably be needed for that particular weekend. A heart of America type trip.

Hi my advice is more for looking after the car:
Suggest 1) Spare Bulb Kit, 2) Top Up Lubricating Oil, 3) Top Up Coolant, 4) List of addresses & contact details of the OPCs in the areas you are visiting (just in case).

I live out in Co and know what you mean by nice people. The drives through the mountains are amazing--that's the best part about owning a Porsche here. Those tight switch backs going through the mountains really test you driving ability.
