Widest Porsche? Fattest Tires?

Hello, i am in the market to purchase a 911. I only test drove a few and know nothing about them. By observing prices, I expect to be buying used and between the years of 1995 to possibly 2004.Can anyone tell me what model 911 has the "wide" rear end and "fattest" rear tires for those years? THANKS!

Well, among recent models the S always has the fatter butt than the non-S versions. You will have to check individual year stats on a database to determine which has the fattest tires, and of course often a used car will not have the exact original size tires on it. some owners fit spacer that push the wheels out 1/4 to 3/8 inch, too, to provide a bit more stance.

If you want a wide rear end, go with a 4S or a turbo.

The 4S is the AWD model isn't it? I am selling a modded Subie and was wanting to track a little with a RWD is why I ask.

Yes the 4S is AWD. You won't find a widebody in a RWD version unless you go with a GT2 which are very expensive.
