1988 911 Coupe WIW?

All,

I am looking at a 2-owner 1988 911 Coupe. It is red, with 84K miles. The current owner bought it from a friend and I don't think this car has ever been in the rain...garage kept by both and he has all the documentation to include original sales sticker...sold for about $52K new.

Current owner cut an oil line at 65K miles...galled some bearings and therefore he had the entire engine rebuilt but he had all new parts used on the internals. Current rebuild has 25K miles on it. He also installed new clutch when he had the engine done. It has about 2500 miles on tune up, with new calipers, pads and rotors.

I drove the car a few years ago and it is tight and everything works but the A/C...which I hear is a known issue with these cars? He has a new condenser/evaporator for it but needs install.

Admittedly, I don't know much about these cars...I am a car guy...been through a bunch of old muscle cars, just sold my 67 vette last summer and while I am an experienced DIY car guy, I need some guidance on this 1988 911 Carrera.

I will post pics and a quick video later this evening. I have known this car for 15 years and it has never been wrecked or abused...he bought a new RV and has lost interest...I always told him to let me know when he wanted to sell...well he just told me he is ready to sell.

He thinks $27-30k. How we doing? I know...pics are everything...give me a bit and I will have them up.

I want a reliable driver...if 1988 911s are fussy and unreliable, I don't want the headache...any perspectives are welcome.

Back in a while...

Cheers
