912 front hood locked shut need help
 

I have a '68 912 and I over adjusted the front hood latch; when I shut the hood.......................it is shut for good. At least I cannot seem to

get it to pop open even with a friend pulling the openerand me pulling up on the hood. Am I going to have to cut a hole from beneath the front

pan to fix this or are there any options/ideas out there? Help would be much appreciated..............

way before I did that I'd roll into a import body or mechanical repair shop in your area where someone may be able to help

I removed the weatherstrip just below the front hood lip, pulled the hoodrelease leverout and held it there with a bungee cord, and then

squeezed my gloved fingers under the hood and pulled upwards hard several times. It finally came loose; I readjusted the male part of the

latch's depth and it's now working fine.............................................. ......................
