944 oil leak
 
hi my name is jim i just brought a 1989 944 turbo i love the car but there is an oil leak coming from the plate on the engine block above the oil drain nut.
the plate has a round disk that is loose it is coming from the disk.what is that? and i have high oil presure the gauge reads 5 bars cold or hot engine . anybody have an answer? please help.:(

Pictures would be nice, but i am guessing you are talking about the leak coming from the lower rear balance shaft cover. To replace it properly will require a timing belt job, since all of that has to come out to get the cover off. The cheap way to get you by for awhile is to get some copper RTV and seal it up. There is also a round type plate on the oil cooler housing, which is what the oil filter mounts to.

it was the end of the balance shaft seal a bit of rtv did the job thanks
