I have a 997 porsche 2004and after car wash i have a idling problem the work shop told me the MAF sensor problem but i don't believe in them because i have no problem with the acceleration.. the car will misfire when the car is idle..
Anyone encounter this problem? |
RE: Idling problem for 997 3.6liter
Do you have an "Engine Warning Light (Orange ) showing"? The Mafs is a potential cause if you got a lot of water around and into theAir Intake, as it could contaminate the "hot wires" in the MAFS.If it was any other electical fault on the ignition side, it would have dried out after the engine heat got to evapourate it off.
MAFs are not that expensive. Did the Workshop run the Diagnostics on the car before they said it was the Mafs? You need the Engine Diagnostic Check to be sure and toknow the right direction to investigate, so if they have not done a diagnostic check on your car, at least pay for that and see what that shows. Thx Bob..
They tell me that the crankshaft is the problem.. Will it be the possibility..? |
RE: Idling problem for 997 3.6liter
There is an engine timing sensor that operates off the Crank/Flywheel so that the revoltion of the engine is recognised for the electronics. It could be a sensor problem in this area giving faulty data and hence the symptoms you are experiencing.
