Type 915 Transmission

Hi there...I just boughta 74' 911 with a 85' 3.2. The guy i bought it from seemed to have taken good care of it. From what i could tell it was decent. I've got plenty of power to get me up to speed. It shifts smooth and fluid when you are just cruising andshift theright pattern. But everytimeI give it some gas off ofthe line and shift from first to second, it has a kink when I hit second gear. The stick fits and won'tpop out, but it has a sort of resistance and has a pretty awful sound. I don'tabuse the the car and I won't try and shift fast to win on the street, especially after I discovered the problem. Any ideas what this could be and how bad it could be? Any help would be great. Thanks

RE: Type 915 Transmission

Sounds like your syncros are starting to wear out a little bit. I would drain your gear lube and go to a synthetic fluid, like swepco, and see if that helps....it should. If not, then you will have to baby it until you can rebuild the transaxle.
