Wider Tires For 2002 boxster

Hi i have a 2002 boxster S, I'd like to make the tires look wider ; the tires are front 205/50-17; rear 255/40-17; what size tires can i use so the tires look wider as much as possible without effecting the cars performance and safety. id like to keep the 17" wheels .thanks

To be honest, you need to fit the right size tire for your rims, and run with the correct aspect ratio. There are handling/safety risks in not staying in the right parameters.
Take a look at Victor Equipment Website, and Yokohama Advan Website for the possibilities.

Typically you can go up one size. You should be fine with 265's
