complete newbie!

Hey everyone! Just looking to get my First Porsche...have been looking at everything from 85-90 Carreras, '95-'97 993, 99-01 996's and even a few Boxsters. I'm a 45 year that has been wanting a Porsche since my High School days and now I can afford one...so many cars!
I currently drive a Mercedes C class and a Mercedes SLK... and just sold my Corvette....I drove my first boxster over the weekend...and was disappointed over feel and perfomrance over the SLK...would not trade it! Drove a 02 Carrera..loved it...didn't like the front end/lights.

I'm really diggin a late 80's 911 but my wife thinks I'm crazy...that's it too old ( my last old project was a 1956 Harley panhead..great for a show bike, but little drive time) I'm seeing some nice and CHEAP examples of mid to late 80's SC and carreras.

So what do you all think??

Thank for welcoming me to the forum! I'll try not to ask too many dumb questions [sm=smiley16.gif]

You can find some late model 911's out there in prestine condition. Make sure you run a carfax and conduct a PPI. I had an 89 Coupe before I bought my 04 Turbo. My 89 was bomb proof.
