hello everybody!

hey everybody, i'm new here. quite the forum you have here... reason i joined is i'm looking for a 86 and up 944 turbo, S or S2. a friend of mine is currently selling his black '86 944 turbo, but it has 218,000 miles on it.

anyway, just wanted to say hi and hopefully i'll be here for a while to share my love of porsche's and give any input/help out all i can.

RE: hello everybody!

oh yeah, i forgot to say that i test drove the car, and it ran very smooth. it shifted well, and all the syncros were in good shape. the car started on the first crank, and ran fairly cool for a 19 year old car. it didn't take long for the turbo/motor to cool down after a 20 minute drive, being fairly heavy on the gas pedal. once spooled up, it ran strong and didn't lose much up top either.

appearantly, the motor has a rebuild, and there are records to prove it and all other mainainence done. the only thing that requires attention is paint, which has a handfull of rock chips and scratches. the driver's side seat also has a tear... but i plan on installing sparcos once purchased. also... i noticed that the stock exhaust system was only 2.5" and any other turbocharged cars i've ever worked on or driven had atleast a 3" turboback exhaust. i heard that porsche actually tunes the backpressure in their exhaust systems, so should i leave it alone until i perform more dramatic modifications that would necessitate the increased exhaust flow?

one more thing, (sorry i know this is a pretty long winded post) the rims on the car are the newer phone dials, powdercoated bronze... they look nice but i really love how the turbo twist wheels look on 944's and 924's... any idea how much a set of those would run me?
