Hi, I'm Tony, 944 owner (again!)

Damnably clever, those Germans...build cars that are totally addictive. I've owned one 944 previously, and regretted selling it ever since. I found a "mechanic's special" for 800 bucks, which the kid who bought it sold me because his mom wanted it out of her yard. (He didn't have a job, which severely limited his ability to do anything with the car after he bought it.) There's not much wrong with it that I can find; I'll know more when I tear into the engine (it's not running; I suspect broken valves), but the body, wheels (Fuchs), and interior are worth what I gave for it, so even if the engine's lunched, I still am not gonna bitch; I'm just happy to be able to have one I can call my own again, and the way some people adopt greyhounds or stray cats; me, I adopt automotive orphans. I've never found one yet that I couldn't resurrect, as long as it wasn't wrapped around a tree or something. (I also own a Pontiac Fiero with a Cadillac V-8, which I originally purchased as an insurance total with a V-6; the front end on the right side was pushed back about six inches.) If I sound a little delirious, it's because I'm happy to have another 944 in the stable. BTW, is it just me, or do Porsches have a certain smell? I swear, this car smells exactly like the one I used to have...it's weird.
