Hello, Have owned my 944T for 10 years, recently the odor of Anti-freeze is present in the cabin when the car is boosting, or so it seems, oil is clean, but I haven't examined the Anti-freeze yet. Does anyone have any ideas what the cause may be. There is no sign of leaks inside, or damp carpet.

Are you getting any drips on the ground? I would start by checking the heater control valve and making sure that is intact (between the engine and the firewall). If your rubber seal on the firewall that goes between the firewall and the hood when you close it is shot, any smells from the engine bay can get sucked into your blower fan for the interior.

Doc,
Thanks for the tip, I just changed the hose between the heater control valve and the engine. prior to that the car belched a lot of coolant after returning from a drive. That hose was bloated, and the ends showed evidence of leakage. Since then I have only drive the car once, the smell continues, but I did not notice any more fluid on the ground. I should probably check again. Unfortunatly my belly pan is still in place, so it may take a while to reach the ground. Pete |
