New to forum- looking for ownership

I'm not there yet, but I'm looking for my first 911 next year sometime. I like the classic look of the 911, not the new look of the 993 or 996 models. I REALLY like the cabs, so I have to get 84 or newer.

any suggestions are welcome, especially if you can tell me the differences/reasons why I shouldn't get a 91 over an 87 cab. they seem like the same approximate price, but there are significant differences in mechanics.

TIA

RE: New to forum- looking for ownership

I’m more 944/928 savvy, but I would personally choose the '91. An '87 would be less expensive initially, but will more than likely have higher mileage and will definitely need some touch up work. If someone is selling an '8X 911 Cabriolet for a decent price and claims immaculate anything I would think twice. If they have indeed taken that much care in their older 911 it won't go for much less than 30K. And then you need to check the fuel lines to be sure it has been drained or properly stabilized in order to prevent settling.
