1st car--1963 Chevy Impala SS convertible (owned it in 1969)--fantastic in Mission Beach (San Diego). With the top down my surfboard fit in the back seat (tip tucked under the back of the front seat). Couldn't make one pass down the boulevard without a bikini'd creature jumping in. Took a good look at me and jumped back out. Hey, I got what I could!
Others-- 1970 GTO, good for my neck muscles, 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spyder, (great sound, head turning looks) 1983 Mazda RX-7 Limited Edition (fun, but I could hear the plastic interior break as I drove down the street--rotary engine all but dead at 70K), 1986 944 (about as quick as your average Hyundai Rio, but a tight ride and superb handling car. Cool factor was unbeatable. Still think they are among the best looking sports cars around), 1986 Fiero GT (a blast to drive--probably my fav, unfortunately the trunk wasbarely big enough for the verymandatory tool box) 1995 Camaro SS--Ihave no excuse for why I bought this. 1999 BMW 328i, of course I'm including it here. I included the Camaro. Current: 2000 Vette convertible--still have it. Best of the best. 1979 911SC Targa, silver with Lobster red interior. Sucking me dry. Kids college funds gone (they can do what I did--go for the GI bill), medical savings account gone, IRA gone, no more bacon bits for the dog, wife still working two jobs---I love this car! |
