New Member, Old Porsche
 

Hi there, I'm Marlette. I'm from Titusville, FL (the city they launch the Space Shuttle from) ... my friend Jesse and I are picking up a semi-restored Porsche on Friday. He is the master mechanic behind the operation, I am eager to learn.

We're excited.

Assuming there is nothing horribly wrong with the car, we'll be buying it Friday.

It's a 1971 911 Targa. Not sure if it's a T, S or E ... we're going to figure that out tomorrow.

A friend of mine bought it back in the early 90's from someone he knew ... sanded/sealed/primed the whole thing and then parked it in the garage where it has sat for the last 13 years ... he's finally ready to part with it and we're getting it as our project car.

We both have Subaru's right now ... he has a 2002 WRX, I have a 2001 2.5RS.

Just wanted to introduce myself. Jesse will be joining soon.
