Newbie 911
Hi everyone ! nice to join this forum.. I used tohave 928 '82 black/red int, 928 S4'94 black/grey int (bothwere my parent's), already soldand traded up with newer merc's and Jag (sigh...).So..yes I have bit of experience of driving and owning a Porsche before.Love both ofthe cars very much but at that time couldnt afford to buy on my own. Since I have been working professionallyfor several years nowand saving bit of $$$ to get my dream car, I'm hoping within the short timeI couldbuy my ownporsche !!Definetely notthe brand new model (cos I definetely cant afford one now :D),butmorelike '88 - '94 911 Carrera/Targa/Cabriolet Model. Hope in within, I can learn a lot from you guys aboutall the useful details I need to know aboutbuying and maintaining a 911 !!

Old or new, it's always a great experiernce owning a Porsche. If you narrow your choice a bit more, we can give you some advice.

RE: Newbie 911
Thanks for the warm response guys ! I guess my decision will only be limited by my 'ready to spend' budget ($ 25K -35 K top !), as this will be my first ownership experience, I will choose younger non turbo model because from what I've heard they are easier to mantain and some of the parts are cheaper.Value for money is really the issue for now ! (although cheapTurbo's model will be tempting and hard to refuse ;))

RE: Newbie 911
You'll be happy with a non turbo as well. Let us know what you get.

RE: Newbie 911
agree, most people don't opt for the turbo for many reasons, sometimes price and mostly because it's more car than you really need. I run my turbo on the track and do a little competing as well. Turbo or not, go Porsche!
