Newbie. What to buy, what to buy.

Hello all,

Ive been lurking around some of the porsche forums for a while. Ever since I was a kid I always had a thing for the porsches and German sports cars in general.Well I am 28 anda soldier currently deployed to Iraq (my second tour), when I get back im spendinga good chunkof my hard earnedmoney on a dreamcar. Ive owned 4 Volkswagens and my current car is a Subaru WRX, which I have modified to about 340hp. Its a very fast car and fun to drive but lacks refinement, I don't fit into the rice rocket scene, and well I miss my german cars.Im tossing around a few ideas like an Audi S4, PorscheBoxster Sor late 80s 911.

So someone convince me... Go with porsche? which model? Used boxsters and 80s 911s can both be had for low-mid $20Ks and thats what im looking to spend. Is one more user-friendly than the other for a novice owner? I imagine the boxster would be because they are newer and generally have fewer miles. How easy are they to modify? etc...
