thinking of buying a used boxster

Hey I am thinking of buying a used boxster. It is my dream car and I decided that I only live once so why not? Anyways I was hoping I could get some suggestions from you guys. I have been looking online. The price ranges are from $17k-$30k. What should I be looking for? I will be driving about 6K miles a year. The car will be in a garage for winters. I love the silver! Any info will help, this is my first sports car purchase so I want to make a good one. Thanks.
Nick

Best advice you can it is that you shouldn't be looking for anything if you don't know what to look for. Spend 200-300 bucks and get a professional porsche (or dealer or porsche garage) PPI done on a car that you are seriously thinking about purchasing, it can save you a LOT of money in the long run. There are a lot of things someone (who is familar with the car) will notice, versus the average person. I don't know of any major problems they have been having, you are going to be looking at the basics since it is less than a 10 year old car at most. Obvious things are previous damage (do the panels all line up, are they all the original color in unseen areas), oil leaks on the t-case and engine, abnormal engine sounds, tire wear, brake wear, rotor wear, any problems when driving, etc etc etc, the list goes on and on.
We've got a 97 silver boxster in the shop right now for a little R&D....which has reached the final tuning stage.

Forgot about the RMS problem. Just make sure that isn't leaking or has been replaced.
