What was the fastest production car in the world before the McLaren F1?Mb Star C4
Mb Star C4 Prior to the McLaren, the Jaguar XJ220 was the record holder at 213mph (immediately before that was the Bugatti EB110GT at 209mph, preceded by the Ferrari F40 at 202mph, which was preceded by the Porsche 959 at 195mph).
With a top speed of around 160mph Mb Star Connect C4, the previouosly mentioned '69 Daytona Charger fell well short of the Ferrari 365, which was the record hold at that time (while th race version of the Daytona Charger did have a higher top speed, you could easily find race versions of other cars that had still higher top speeds).
