"Seepage around Valve Cover Gaskets"...serious?

I'm considering purchasing a 91 Carerra 4...have spoken with the service center the seller has used, and they've indicated there is "minor seepage around the valve cover gaskets". Is this a serious problem, or is that expected on a 14 year old car with 108K miles? Would anyone recommend strongly against purchasing? Will the problem worsen?

Thanks in advance...any thoughts appreciated.

Serious....no not really, will it get worse...probably. Time frame before doing something about it: Depends on how much oil you want to wipe off your garage floor from drips. The gaskets could be bad, or the valve covers themselves could be warped which is very common, thus requiring new covers. If the covers are warped, then you are looking at a few hundred for new covers, gaskets, and installation. Stephen Kaspar has come up with a great solution to the warped cover issue, we don't have them up on the website yet, but i sell them in our ebay store, you can read up on the description about the problem this car has and one of the solutions: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMESE%3AIT

Some guys will try and sand the covers flat and true again, but the metal is still tweeked and the problem comes back in short time. Sometimes just replacing the gasket when the cover is warped will stop the leaks also for a short time.

Thanks for the tip, PorscheDoc. I appreciate your help, and will consider your solution if I purchase the car.
