18" wheels on a 996

I've been thinking about going to 18" wheels on my '01 C4 Cab when the tires are done. It presently has 17"and only has 15000 mlies. However a dealer said that he wouldn't recommend it. He said the suspension would make it a rough ride however I think they were offered as an option that year. Any input?

I have fitted 18" Victor Equipment to my 996. And the ride difference is slightly firmer, but not an issue for me. 18" wheels were also standard with some option combinations on the 996.
I did a short trial with some 19" Wheels, on the advice of the dealer (Porscheshop) before I settled on the 18" for my car. The 19" were certainly more challenging for an every day drivesituation.
You should be happy with 18". But if you dont mind a firm ride, then the current trend is bigger and 19" will fit the 996. Take a look at the Victor Equipment website.
