1965 911 Delima...Need advice

I own a 1965 911 shell. (It used to be a complete car, but that is a long sad story.) The shell was restored in the early nineties and has been outside under tarp ever since. I am trying to decide what my options are as to what to do with it. I am a new state rep and don't have the time to restore it myself and have no idea as to what a non-original car would be worth and whether it is worth the investment. I would love to drive it but some dreams are just not practical...timewise. Any ideas or whom to get ideas from?

Taking a car from that kind of condition is never cheap or quick. I don't know what type of climate you live in, but cars that sit under tarps always are going to need a ton of work. Age and weather takes it's toll on rubber, fabric etc. Getting an engine and transaxle in it are just one thing. Your tires will be dry rotted, your brake calipers are probably seized up, your fuel and brake lines are also probably in very poor shape. Typcially the mid 60's to early 70's 911s are brining 10-15k in price, in good shape. Can you get an engine, transaxle, and get the car running for that. No. Especially if you aren't doing the work yourself. It may be best to sell the shell to someone who wants a project car. Typically a DIY who will tinker with it over the course of a few years to get it running is about the only viable option for cars like this. And even then, they will never get their money out of the car.
