1976 911 Price feedback

Hello,
I've always wanted a Porsche 911 but am ignorant as to what to look for when buying a used one;

I'm looking at a 1976 911S and would appreciate any feedback on if the asking price is reasonable.
The owner is asking $8750.

Here's the details:
1976 911S
104,000 miles
No rust, no dents
Engine rebuilt 20K miles ago, with upgraded studs, tensioners and pop-off valve -- to address the weaknesses of the 2.7.
Everything else original
New tires (1K miles)
According to the owner nothing is needed and everything works.

Is that a reasonable price? Any gotcha's I should be aware of?

Thanks!

RE: 1976 911 Price feedback

First question is, did you have a PPI done on the car? Second one is, have you had the car on the lift to ensure there is no rust...it likes to hide. Third question is, did you have a PPI done on the car? Can you see what i am getting at? ESPECIALLY if you don't know what to look for. I.E., a PPI by a qualified mechanic who knows older 911's can be a lifesaver. Without one, no one can really tell you if the car is worth it or not. For only $8750, something seems to be out of whack. I would expect with a recent engine build, etc and only 104k miles, that he would be asking in the teens. And maybe it is just a great deal.....
