1999 or 2000 Porsche 911

Hi all,

I'm in the beginning stages of buying a used Porsche 911, and I was looking to see what kind of advice some current owners or prospective buyers could give me before I make my purchase.

I have been looking into this for a few weeks now, and I generally just get excited thinking about it. The last thing I want to do is buy a Porsche just to buy one. Below I have listed some topics I would like to know more about. I would appreciate any help you guys can give me.

- Maintenance costs and maintenance schedule
- Recurring problems with 1999 or 2000 911's
- Mileage issues - are Porsche cars good up to a certain mileage, like a Ferrari?
- Which model would you recommend?
- Any other recommendations you may have

Thank you for the help,

Brett

RE: 1999 or 2000 Porsche 911

I went through the same thing you are this year. In July I purchased a 2000 C2 Aero car. It's Red on Black. Make sure you get the options you really want. I waited almost 9 months and got a car that had all I wanted with low miles and lots of options. I went with the 2000 over the 99 car because of the history of first year cars. The 99 was the first year of the 996 style. Good luck with your search.
