1st 911, buying a 2002 C4S.
I have put a deposit on a 2002 C4s. Flying out Tues from St Louis, to Houston. Dealership is picking me up. The car has 32k, 1 owner, clean Title, 3 months left on factory warranty, 2 years of Certified Porsche warr. after that.
Car looks clean. I am a little nervous going into this. I called a local Porsche dealer, they wont pick up the car for PPI, too much liability in the state of Tx. With the warrantys i think I should be cool, but i need your guys advise as a new 911 guy-to-be. Any aid would be so helpful. I have owned a 2000 Boxs and 2000 Boxt S, so I have an idea of how the 911 SHOULD feel. ORIGINAL: PorscheDoc Momentum Porsche? Biggest bunch of idiots I have ever seen. What should I look out for? With it being a newly certified Porshce, what are the risks. Clutch, tranny etc??? Just need advise going into this huge desision. Once I get to Houston, im going to be at their disposal. |

Ok good, stay away from Momentum, lol.
Well, I can't recommend getting a PPI enough, at a place other than where you are buying, but that doesn't look like an option for you at this point. Obviously you need to check to see if the RMS is leaking, but will need the car on a lift to see if it leaking. I would definetly ask them to put the car on a lift so you can look at everything, they shouldn't have a problem with that. Look everything over good, tire wear (at 32k they should have been replaced at least once), brakes, etc. With 2 years of CPO warranty left, you really shouldn't have any problems. |

I payed $49k for it plus $449 in dealer fee's. I guess that's what is making me nervous....too good to be true??!! Thanks!!! |
