2004 911 audio upgrade?
 

Can anyone recommend a relatively simple audio system upgrade from the standard factory unit? Also, are the 4 CD slots under the player head cd changer or simply storage. I know this is elementary but I have no info.

Those slots are simply storage. Are you just looking for a different head unit?

Yes most importantly the head. Dbl large screen display that incorporates dvd, ipod, and satellite radio. Not interest in CD changer. Don't know about speakers. Would new head improve quality? Would like to use existing factory amp.

There are a couple of nice options in the kenwood and pioneer line for touch screen dual din, dvd, nav, etc with integrated hard drives, etc. It does take some fitment to get a double din unit installed, but I have done quite a few and they are really nice upgrades. Any good stereo shop (IE, not best buy) should be able to help you out.
