2004 GT3 Rotors

Hey everybody:

I'm looking for some insite into an issue i'm having with brake Rotors on my 2004 GT3 (which is a 996 needless to say).

I do a fair bit of track activity, and my brakes have started making some noise. Taking them to my local porsche doctor, he says that the front rotors have cracks, and that I had better get them replaced before I take it out on the track again.

So, I am looking for some advice on Rotors and pads, specifically, for infrequest track use, maybe once a month, but heavy when I'm there, what kind of Rotors and pads should I be looking at? The stock rotors lasted me 2 seasons, so I'm pretty happy with that, but I was wondering if there is something that can give me better performance?

Thanks.

For as little as you are using it, stock replacement is probably fine. If you were really tracking the car a lot and hard, there are upgraded pads and rotors (slotted versus crossdrilled) out there that are good options. Crossdrilled rotors are going to crack from hole to hole eventually, they aren't meant to be used under extreme use for long periods of time.
